How We Collect Information

Steady Word is designed to help churches and families follow Bible reading plans without creating another account, password, or complicated system.

This Privacy Policy explains how Steady Word collects, uses, and protects information when you visit our website, submit a contact form, or use a Steady Word reading-plan app.

No accounts required

Steady Word does not require church members or readers to create an account or log in to use the normal reading-plan experience. Members can open a reading plan from a link and, if they choose, add it to their phone’s Home Screen.

Information we collect

Contact and support form information

If you contact us through the website or a support form, we may collect the information you choose to submit. This may include issue details, your role, plan or device context, contact information if you provide it, and optional screenshots.

Reading-plan use

The Steady Word app may store reading progress, selected plan, reminder preferences, and basic settings on your own device so the app can remember where you are and work more smoothly. This information is typically stored in your browser or installed web app on your device. Aggregate reading-plan activity may be reported, but your personal reading progress is kept locally on your device.

Push notifications

If you choose to enable reminders or notifications, Steady Word and its service providers may store the information needed to send notifications to your browser or installed web app. You can turn off notifications through your browser, device settings, or the app settings where available.

Aggregate usage analytics

Steady Word collects limited aggregate usage analytics to understand whether reading-plan apps are working and being used. Analytics may include app or page activity, install-help activity, reading-plan activity, reminder or notification activity, support activity, sync status, and technical errors.

Analytics may use an anonymous device-based identifier to help estimate unique devices. A unique device is not the same thing as a unique person, because people may share a device or use more than one device. Steady Word does not require reader accounts and does not collect names, email addresses, or phone numbers for analytics.

Church and plan information

For churches using Steady Word, we may store or access reading-plan data, church branding, plan configuration, and related setup information needed to operate the app.

How we use information

We use information to:

What we do not do

Steady Word is not designed as an advertising or surveillance product.

Third-party services

Steady Word may use trusted service providers to operate the website and reading-plan apps. These may include hosting, database and analytics, notification, support and form processing, spreadsheet or content storage, and Bible-link services.

When you click a Bible passage link or visit a third-party website, that third party’s privacy policy and terms apply.

Local storage, caching, and offline access

Steady Word may use browser storage, local storage, service workers, and caching so the app can remember settings, track local progress, and remain available after syncing. You can clear this information through your browser or device settings, although doing so may reset app progress or preferences on that device.

Children and families

Steady Word may be used by families, Bible classes, and churches with children or students. The normal reading-plan experience does not require children to create accounts or submit personal information. If you believe a child has submitted personal information through a contact form or other communication, please contact us and we will review and delete it where appropriate.

Data retention

Contact and support form submissions, support records, and church setup information may be kept as long as needed to respond, operate the service, maintain records, or support the church’s use of Steady Word. Aggregate or technical usage information may be retained to improve reliability and understand adoption. Local app data remains on the user’s device until it is cleared by the user, the browser, or the app.

Security

We use reasonable measures to protect information used to operate Steady Word. No website, app, or internet service can guarantee perfect security, so please avoid sending sensitive personal information through website forms.
